Cullery
The fastest way to decide which photos you don’t need.
A keyboard-only photo culler for Windows. Point it at a folder of camera files and it shows you one photo at a time, full screen. Keepers aren’t touched. Rejects go to a Trash folder, RAW and all, so you can look through them before you delete anything yourself.

What it does
One photo, two keys, next photo.
Camera backups grow because deciding is slow. Opening a folder of 800 frames in an image viewer, right-clicking, dragging things around, remembering which RAW belongs to which JPEG — it’s enough friction that most of us just buy another drive instead.
Cullery removes the friction by removing the choices.

- → keeps, ← rejects. That’s the entire interaction. Your hand doesn’t leave the arrow keys and your eyes don’t leave the photo.

Reject a shot and its
.RAF,.CR2,.CR3,.NEF,.ARW,.DNG,.ORF,.RW2or.XMPsidecar goes with it. The header shows you what’s attached before you decide, so you always know what a keypress will move. - Keepers never move
- Pressing → touches nothing on disk. Filenames, folder structure, timestamps — exactly as your camera left them.
- Rejects wait in a Trash folder
- Moved, never deleted — into a folder you can point anywhere. Look through it in Explorer and empty it when you’re ready. Cullery has no delete code in it.
- Undo, as far back as you like
- Fat-fingered a keeper into the bin? Press Z. It puts the RAW back too.
- Picks up where you left off
- Close it mid-card and reopen later; it skips everything you’ve already judged and starts at the next undecided frame.
- Fast enough to keep up with you
- Upcoming shots are decoded in the background while you look at the current one, so 40-megapixel files still advance instantly.
- Offline and self-contained

No account, no telemetry, no network access, no install. One
.exe, and your photos never leave your machine.
Requirements
Two things worth checking before you download.
- Windows
- v0.1 is Windows-only — it’s a single
.exe. - A JPEG for each shot
- Cullery previews JPEG, PNG and TIFF. It moves RAW files but can’t yet display them, so shoot RAW + JPEG and it’ll work as you’d expect. If you shoot RAW-only, this version has nothing to show you — sorry, it’s on the list.

No installer. Put it wherever you like, double-click.
Windows will warn you the first time
The download is unsigned — a code-signing certificate costs more than this free tool is worth right now — so you’ll see “Windows protected your PC.” Click More info → Run anyway. Your antivirus may grumble too; single-file Python builds are a well-known false positive.
That is a real trade, and it’s asking you to take my word for it. If you’re not comfortable with that, don’t — it’s an entirely reasonable call, and I’d rather say so plainly than talk you into it.
Known limits
Honest notes on v0.1, so nothing comes as a surprise.
- RAW-only folders show nothing. It needs a JPEG to preview. Highest priority for v0.2.
- Windows only.
- No zoom yet, so it’s a keep/bin pass, not a focus-check pass.
- Reads the folder you point it at, not subfolders.
- The .exe is unsigned — see above.
